Jake Jones


Raised in Shawnee, Oklahoma, Jake attended the University of Central Oklahoma on a tennis scholarship. He then received his law degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1982.

Starting as a Law Clerk, Jake worked his way through Law School gaining valuable experience with preeminent lawyers. Once graduated, Jake had a General Practice including the representation of Plaintiffs and Defendants, both civil and criminal.

Jake then formed his own law firm keeping his mediation and general civil practice, with emphasis on the defense of healthcare providers, municipalities, schools, businesses and other defendants in courts and before state boards.

In 2008, Jake became a Partner at the law firm of Kirk and Chaney continuing his civil and mediation practice until the formation of Jake Jones Mediation in 2022.

Professionally, Jake was elected by his peers to the Judicial Nominating Commission at the age of 34 and has been involved in the County Bar Association and other professional organizations. He was nominated to the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals in 2015. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System, having been appointed to the Board by the last four governors of both parties.
